The first Shahi Snan of Haridwar Kumbh 2021 will take place on Thursday, March 11. This day will be Maha Shivaratri Festival. According to Shri Ganga Sabha established by Madan Mohan Malaviya, Uttarakhand government has announced the dates of Shahi Snan and major bathing dates of Haridwar Kumbh 2021 after discussion with all major akharas. Shahi Snan Dates for Kumbh Mela Haridwar 2021: (01) Thursday, 11 March 2021 Mahashivratri, (02) Monday, 12 April Somavati Amavasya, (03) Wednesday, 14 April Vaishakhi, (04) Tuesday, 27 April, Punrnima Chaitra month.
Major Bathing Dates for Kumbh Mela Haridwar 2021: (01) Thursday, 14 January 2021 Makar Sankranti, (02) Thursday, 11 February Mouni Amavasya, (03) Tuesday, 16 February Basant Panchami, (04) Saturday, 27 February Magha Purnima, Tuesday, (05) 13 April Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Hindu New Year), (06) Wednesday, 21 April Ram Navami.
When the Amrit Kalash came out, all the gods and demons wanted to drink it. Lord Vishnu's Mohini Avtar was distributing Amrit but while giving to Asuras she changed it to Alchohol. Once Asuras realized it they got angry. There was a war between gods and demons for nectar. During this time, drops of nectar from Kalash fell in four places Haridwar, Prayag, Nashik and Ujjain. This war lasted for 12 years, so Kumbh Mela is held once every 12-12 years at these four places. In this fair, the saints of all the akharas and all the devotees bathe in the holy rivers at the places.
